Has anyone got snow yet?? We are to start getting it by tomorrow night. It sounds like this front will not be going around us. Hubby say it our turn! So I am stocking up on goodies!!!
I think hubby said it is supposed to be heading here overnight through till Monday and their saying over 12 inches. I plan on hibernating here.
Hopefully I'll be able to get hubby to stop and pick up a few things on his way home from work in the morning. He's on his 24 hour shift, because I really don't feel like dragging 4 kids out to the store later. I've finally gotten the 3 year old to take a nap and I'm enjoying the peace and quiet.
Tspauld,
We have not had a good snow here in along long time. It always makes everything look so clean and new. I remember when my children were little how I loved Nap time.
Well Daughter just called no school for Granddaughter on Monday so with snow comming I get to have the Grandbabies on Sat! (forgot Sis can not come with out baby brother! LOL) So if it really really snows who knows how long I will get top keep them!! LOL
So off I go to get ore goodies to eed my babies.
Take care All
I will catch-up with you all later
This is the weirdest season for Wisconsin.I live in Waupaca county and the ony snow I see is the stuff along the curb.We did have soem ealrier but it melted. And then a tiny bit for Christmas(at least). The storm this time is staying south of us.(Illinois/Indiana,Ohio River Valley)
Seattle had 2nd major snow storm this winter. This one came Wednesday night, dumped 6 inches over 4 hours. As of this morning (Saturday morning), snow is still on ground, thank to artic blast that came after the snow. Roads are very dangerous.
Lee,
You stay warm, and safe in your home. It does not sound like you want to be going any where. We got a dusting this morning, but to night or tomorrow morning is when they say it is really going to start. After we pick up the children today I will be settleing in for the rest of the weekend. We have movies (Car's rule)and sancks!
I think I have everything here that the Grandbabies like so we will ok. The only problem that we could have is Father may not be able to get down here for Church in the morning. Other then that we should be go to go.
Oh i would LOVE to have a huge storm and be snowed in my house for 2 or more days. LOL I cant even remember the last time that happened....
Unfortunately weve only had about 5 or 6 inches total so far and its melting away.... My hubby and I joke that we need to move to Texas to get any snow.
Very weird weather for sure!
Well then Marisa,
Pack up the car and grab the family and head south to Iowa!! I have got plenty of room so we can all be snowed in together!! LOL I can remeber when every winter it seemed like we had people off the interstate staying with us because of snow. It has been awhile! We use to have the churches and the Community center full so we all would take people in to our homes for a few days, untill the interstate was back up and moving. Daughter just called and is pushing pick up time until later, seems granddaughter is in trouble for something, dang what could a little 8 year old do that was so bad that she has to explain it to us so we understand why she must follow her punishment while she is here? Poor little thing trys so hard to be perfect for her Mom I just can not even guess what she did? Eat food in the TV room? left her clothes on the floor? Oh well I guess we will find out later. I think I will mix up some cookie dough for her to make cookies with tomorrow. She like to make cookies for Pa-Pa.
We dont have any snow. Only once did it snow and it was only about 3 inches. this is a first in more than 30 years. I'm glad the snow is coming here...every year about 300 Nova Scotians die cause of terrible road conditions...kids miss the snow though, it is pretty but too dangerous for my liking!
I do like to see it come as long as it leaves right away...i wanted to post some pictures of the snow but we just arent getting any, lol.
It was great!!!!! Thanks for asking. We pick them up at Arbys so naturally we had to get TJ cinnamon Rolls for Sunday!! After Church they played with Pa-Pa in the snow. It snowed here all Sunday. Our 1 to 2 inches turned in to 6-7 inches Omaha had it right!!! We made cookies while Pa-Pa went off to work and watched the movie Cars. It is really a cute movie. Granddaughter and I made jewelry while little guy did puzzles. Granddaughter really did a great job. Monday we did more puzzles and games, when Pa-Pa got home it was back out into the snow. But not for long it was just way to cold to be out long. then we went to burger king for supper in the Valley so they could play in the burger king playground till parents showed up. Daughter just called and said that they were out of the running before 8 o'clock last nit so I guess we wore them out!!!! LOL. Can hardly wait till March when my other Grandchildren come to stay for 10 days while their parents take off to Florida. This is the ones with OUR Miracle Child. He is 20 months now and is a beautiful child. We are so lucky to have him and his Mom here with us. Thank you God. Sorry did not mean to get carried away. I just love my family!!!!
My mother had all of us kids out when we were little picking them.
Fiddleheads are the young coiled fern leaves (about an inch in diameter) of the ostrich fern (Matteuccia struthiopteris). Nearly all ferns have fiddleheads, but those of the ostrich fern are unlike any other.
Fiddleheads are a Maine delicacy that appears in the early spring during April and May. Harvest the tender little rolls of fern almost as soon as they appear within an inch or two of the ground. Carefully brush out and remove the brown scales. Wash and cook the “heads” in a small amount of lightly salted boiling water for ten minutes, or steam for 20 minutes. Serve at once with melted butter. The quicker they are eaten, the more delicate their flavor. They may be served, like asparagus, on toast. Cooked, chilled fiddleheads can be also served as a salad with an onion and vinegar dressing.
Wow, And I thought I knew about food. LOL They sound good. Here when spring comes everyone goes mushroom hunting. But they are so rich they can give you a tummy ache.
But how did you get the picture up on the board like that???
Hey Lee, I'll trade - we are in the San Juans and all the Islands from Camano out are being hit! Man, we have lost power more times this winter than in the last 10 years combined!!!
Tell me about it Sky,, first too much rain in Nov, then the wind, then snow, and more winds and more snow,,, I am SEEING sign of snow melt, first time in over a week!
can't wait. Hope it's a good one. Usually when the snow storm comes from the south of us (north carolina) we get a really good one.
I'm getting excited. I'm like a kid when it comes to snow. My son laughs at me when it's snowing cuz I scout out all the windows to see if it's snowing harding through one window than another, lol.
