Sky, that's where they get u, the third party insurance companies. We all get to the point where we need money to survive.

In my case I am alone and if it had not been for family I would have lost everything. Those that can hold out and fight (along with good back up) I believe come out ahead. It's just who in the world can have income one day and loose it without losing everything.

I was so scared but fighting my case saved me over $33,000. I think it's sick that an attorney gets that for our suffering. I know what they do because I've walked that walk and those that do have attorneys know that you still have to do things for them. There's nothing special about me and I did it myself for the most part. The only thing that I think made it easier for me is that I'm hard headed and I was supported here and with family funds to fight.

I still say www.settlementcentral.com was a blessing to me and I learned a lot.

My own case wouldn't be as bad as my DH as he has 12 months of loss wages and we have 12 payments of over $1,000 of insurance payments - since they were out of his work I am assuming they will add those to his settlement. And we can argue he has lost his job as they had to hire another professor. Not sure how that will all come out.

It is so frustrating as we not only lost his income but have to pay OUT the insurance payments! So we are pretty much maxed out on credit cards! We are going to cash out a retirement fund so we can get a bit more back on our feet. Paying off the highest imterst one, and most of the next, some on the lowest interst and all the store credit cards. Nothing left (well under a couple of hundred) but it will feel so much better to have the cards not hanging over our heads!

Sure wish it was all behind us!!!!
