I just wanted to know the best fishing spots. I haven't been fishing in a long time and I need some help as to were to go and what to use as bait.

a fish story

I went fishing for the very first time , this is how I find the fishing holes or spots to fish .

I was driving along the river and I saw a man fishing ! ( a funny looking man , he was very short and I'm thinking , to myself as I drive by
If he is fishing there ,, there must be fish there ?
yes !
I'm new at this fishing thing .
I wanted a fishing pole for christmas and boy did I get a fishing rod , it is so HUGE !
Takes me and my shadow alone to carry it , the darn thing is so heavy .
I forgot to ask Santa pacifically what kind of fishing rod I wanted ... yah know the standard fish fishing rod and reel .. well I got more than I bargained for , and I am over whelmed with this new fishing rod .
Yah use it for " Trolling for fish "
I think yah need to be on the boat , but I missed the boat along with Donna !

and I am fishing with this awkward fishing rod from shore.

as for bait , yah got me ?

I've been catching spiders and ants and the odd little potatoe bug .
the ground is too frozen for worms
besides , I think the birds stole all those .
and stored them for the winter .
I cant find one worm in this frozen ground , in my yard.

the first time I went fishing , I left my trolling fishing rod at home .

the second time I went fishing , I went alone and never even thought of bait

But this time , I have bait , I caught a spider in my bathroom and two ants in my kitchen and a potatoe bug in the crack of the patio door .
I have them LIVE in a jar , with small little air holes in the top .. small enough , so the two ants dont escape .

I have four pieces of bait , and thought about going fishing for the third time .

is the fly fishing rod a different fishing rod than I have .. or are these two rods similar ?

Hubby wanted me to tell you.

He's never had any luck fishing with ants and spiders, the occasional bug does help.

But keep turning over rocks, because even though its a pain in the back, you'll never know what slimy things you'll find to use.

You are too much. I think I need a pain pill cuz I laughed so hard on this one, I fell out of my chair and think I broke my butt, lol.

We got 6 or 7 inches of new snow last night and no wind so it is just sitting on the trees looking like a picture post card!!! It is sooooooooo beautiful.

Ohh and I do not have a boat anymore (children grew up and bought fancy big ones) So can I troll fish off the bank of the river?
