Amazing, isn't it!

Hi All! Why can't we have decent Drs when we really need them?!

Insurance Drs refused to believe that my right knee problems are a result of my mva. Yesterday I saw an orthopaedic surgeon at the local hospital. Last year the Drs in Sydney wanted to operate and completely remove the cartilage in my right knee - I was advised against this option by my then GP. Anyway, by the time my name came up on the list for theatre I was living up here, 1000kms away, and told them "no thanks". Doc yesterday had the MRI results and gave them to me (I didn't have them previously). I have four (4) things wrong in my knee, including a Bakers' cyst and a badly torn meniscus. He opined that these changes are so severe that they had to have been caused by the forces in the mva. Makes me so mad! Just wish I'd had that opinion before my case settled last year!

Love & Light!

Ohhh Oz,
So sorry to hear this. It makes you wonder just what the Dr,'s think about us when we come to them after a MVA doesn't it. I am just glad to hear that this Dr. had a MRI done and told you the truth. I wonder how many of us will hear the same thing after we have settled? What does he think can be done for your knee. Please keep us updated.

Yes, CAA, you really do have to wonder about these Docs! Sorry, forgot to tell you what he's going to do - that darn brain fog! He's put me on the list for arthroscopy. Will be next year and just day surgery. Depending on what he finds there whether I'll have further surgery. I think he was horrified that the others wanted to take the whole cartilage out of my knee. Said he can't guarantee that he won't - depends on what he finds - but that is not what he'd usually do. Said he'd take out the damaged part so that it will give me some relief and I'll be able to walk better and with less pain. Love & Light!

Oh jeez Oz, thats terrible.

Thats the fear I have about settling. That once I do they could find more things wrong.

I'm sure everything will work out for you. And hopefully they can get you fixed up soon.
