No school today!

And we're in the middle of a Nor'Easter.

Hold on Annie, I believe its heading your way.

It looks like we're in for 12 to 20 inches of snow. Yuck! Its too early in the season for this.

Thank goodness hubby got the sidewalk blower fixed so he shouldn't have to shovel today. I don't think his knee could take it.

Get your grippers on too, lol, that's what we call damn fine snow tires here!

Tspauld,
Wow it is early in the year for this kind of storm. We had a ice storm this weekend with snow on Sunday.
Hubby had to keep fixing furnaces and I stayed inside. He took a spill Sunday and thinks that he may have banged up his ribs.
He is real sore.
It seems like we just jump from summer to winter anymore. I wonder what happen to fall? I hope you have back-up for electric.
that is the one thing we always lose here. So back-up is important.
Today would be a good day to do Christmas stuff with the children.
LOL Good luck with that.
Please keep us up to date.

How are you doing Tspauld where ya are? We are still getting snow for the last 9 hours, supposed to change to rain in a few hours!!!

Man coming home today was terrible, the roads were so bad they pulled the police cars off the roads except for accidents and boy there were a lot of those on our travels!!!

We noticed coming home a police car with the lights falshing on the on ramp with a spotlight, we could see tire tracks going right off the road but who knows how far over the bank the car went...it is scarey! Hubby is leaving for work in 8 hours and I am terriffied of him going to work with these roads!!!

Time to get the candles ready and the flashlights out, this will be a doozy...then again it could change in minutes...do you know what they say about the weather in Nova Scotia? If you don't like what it's doing now, just wait ten minutes, it'll change! That is true.

nitey nite!

annie

I hope you guys have heat besides electric, you may need it if the power goes out!

Well we made it through without losing power.

Yes CAA the were saying on the news yesterday that this is the first time since 18 something or other that we've gotten this kind of storm this ealy in the season. It appears that we got about a foot of snow. The roads are all clear now. It stopped sometime around 3 this morning.

LOL Annie, grippers, I've never heard them called by that. I run my all season radials year round so I don't have to mess wth canging tires in time. Hubby was kind and put the bags of traction sand in the trunk of my car yesterday, not that I had any intention of going anywhere. The roads I guess got really bed, alot of accidents and a fatal accident down in Saco.

Nope we have no backup for our heat. We run a K-1 furnace, but unfortunately when the power goes out the furnace does too. We've been fortunate though we usually don't lose powerfor more than an hour or two. During the ice storm of 98 I think we lost it for about 3 hours.

Oh jeez I'm rambling. I really need to get motivated and get kids ready for school, the bus will be here in about 40 minutes.

Annie I hope your fairing the storm well too. And hopefully you didn't get that rain mix with it. I know it shifted and we got straight snow.

Ice

winter statistic.....
98% OF AMERICANS SAY 'OH S***' BEFORE GOING IN THE DITCH ON A SLIPPERY ROAD.

THE OTHER 2% ARE FROM SOUTH DAKOTA AND THEY SAY, 'HOLD MY BEER AND WATCH THIS.'
