Dear friends,
First let me say that my family in Omaha
was not at the Westroads Mall today (thank you Lord)
It is hard to believe that someone would go in to a
Mall and open fire on the shoppers at the Von Maur.
They now say it was a 19 year young man. How sad
It is turly a sad day for all. It is so sad and disgusting when these things happened. What's even sadder, it was a kid.
I personally have been to the Westroads mall when I was a child as I lived near Omaha, so it did sort of hit close to home in a way.
My prayers go out to everyone who experienced that shooting in someway, whether they were there at the time, or have a family member or friend that was there.
It seems that it's worse and worse. I heard a newscaster say this is rare--I don't think so, in my forty-ood years, I see it more and more. Too many children being left to raise themselves. Too much depersonalization--too much loss of family, God and meaning in life. We stopped being part of the community and become such a mobile self centered society.
Sad yes
We should pray and act in our own regions to cultivate hope and meaning. Smile and stop judging others. Even on this board, we hurt eachother--exclude when none of us wants to be excluded. Jesus included all.
