I think I'm closer to being back to the land of the living.

Okay, I made it through the rf's yesterday morning. I had C3 to T7 done again but on the other side. I made it through without the sedation. The doc asked me how I could do that and I told him after being in pain this long the rf is nothing.

Anyhow we got about half way home and the pain became unbearable. I don't remember it being that bad last time. And I don't remember my arm hurting the way it did this time. I thought my arm was on fire. And it didn't help with all the potholes that hubby kept hitting. I didn't think we'd ever get home.

Anway I got home took a oxycodone and nothing. So hubby got a little nervous and called the pain doc and they upped my pain meds from 1 oxycodone every 4 hours to 2 every three hours. It didn't really seem to help much and I finally got to the point of having to sit on the edge of my bed, neck wrapped in ice packs and hugging the wastebasket most the night.

So anyway today I feel lots better. Still not great but defintely better.

Oh wgile I was there I asked about that MRI. The pain doc told me that I am not loaded full of arthritis like my PCP said. I do have the very beginnings of DDD at L4/L5 and what surprised him was its also at T11/T12. He told me that my PCP was not thinking when he ordered the MRI that he should have ordered a SPECT for the lumbar. He said that the pain I'm having would not be coming from the DDD. That he feels its lumbar facets and the SI joint. So anyway I'm supposed to call them as soon as I'm feeling a bit better and they are going to set up the SPECT.

Hi T - That is good that the pain is going down slowly. It sure sounds like the doc at the pain clinic is on the ball. A doc like that is worth his weight in gold.
