Wow, looks like we've lost alot of interest in posting on this message board. Where's everyone at? Doesn't seem everyone visits daily like they used to.
I check daily to see who's posted but haven't posted. Things are the same here. Just take things one day at a time. I'm still on SSDI and Medicare. I'm on a plan with AARP for extra help with prescriptions-I only have to pay $1.05 copay.
And, I'm on a plan for my health care with Medicare-I don't have to pay for my Medicare Part B which is I think $94 month. Also I have Medicaid as a backup so what Medicare doesn't pay, Medicaid backs up. Thank god, cuz I don't know how I'd make it what with all the doctors visits, diagnostics and meds.
How's everyone doin? Good I hope. I'm hangin in there-some days are good and some-well, ya all know how it goes. I HATE WINTER. I need to move down south where it stays warm all year round. I'm a walking barameter-any precipitation, I know the day before, lol.
Well, sorry to ramble but haven't posted in quite some time. CAC thanks for the holler out asking about me, hope you're doin good. And Red, miss you-hope you're doing good.
I will start getting Medicare next May, not sure if I am old enough for AARP yet to take advantage of cheap med! However, I was told that I still will recieve Medicaid to fall back on as Secondary insurance (what Medicare won't pay.) Like you, my Medicaid will pay for Medicare.
My doctor put me on new med. So far, it seems to help but will ask to increase the dosage. Meloxicam is what I am getting, take it once daily.
I was thinking the same as you are,,, where's everyone!
Hello Donna & Lee,
SO nice to see you both. Glad to hear that you both are getting some
medical help. I guess I can not complain to much about the weather here
in Iowa. We have been lucky so far this Winter!!!! not much snow(but now
that I have gone and braged about it 2 to 1 our good weather will leave!!
LOL) I hope that your Christmas plans are moving right along without any
hitches. I think that I have everything covered just have to get the cards
out by thursday and I can relax( LOL ) I was not able to make any candy
this year zip zap none!!! It is a hard pill to get down!!! No matter
what I have always gotten some made. But my knee just won't hold me
up long enough to get it done this year. Hopefull next year will be
better by then I should have 2 new knees. And come feb. I will be smoke
free 1 year!!! While I am layed up after knee surgry I will try to make
it to the board once a day. May Angels be with you both during this wonderful
season.
Was that you playing? It was nice. Funny cuz the first site you told us to go to I found some really interesting and cute videos even tho they weren't the one you wanted us to see.
But, the 2nd one took me right to the one you wanted us to see. Cute.
Sorry to hear about your knees. I have problems with mine off and on-some days I'm ok and some days I get down and can't get back up. Seems we get one thing taken care of and something else comes along, huh?
No candy this year? I'll bet your family is just going to be heartbroken without it, lol. No seriously, candy is time consuming and I'm sure it's very painful for you to stand there cooking and packaging it. But, hopefully this time next year you will once again be making your Christmas candy.
I'll tell you, since I went on disability and have more time now to do things like baking cookies and fudge and all the goodies that come with the holidays, I've gotten lazy. Some days I get alot done and some days I get absolutely nothing done.
Do you have any surgery lined up yet? Or are you waiting for the holidays to be over with to schedule them? Keep us posted.
What is Meloxicam? Is it a narcotic pain reliever? I guess I could look it up on the internet but I'm just too lazy, lol.
I'd love to see everyone come back to this forum eventually. This forum will always have a special place in my heart.
I came across this forum over 8 years ago, while searching for information on whiplash. I was in alot of pain that was getting worse by the day but despite complaints to my pcp, he refused to change the course of action (which was to take Tylenol 3 and come back in 6 weeks). Someone on here told me "don't be a victim twice," meaning no one knows your body more than yourself and if I felt I was not getting proper medical treatment and that person refused to change the course of treatment, fire em and find someone who listens to my concerns.
I know there were some problems here awhile back and things got alittle heated and people left. I stopped posting for some time, but I still kept coming back, waiting for things to calm down. And it's past time for this forum to heal and get back to the way it used to be. People out there need our help. We have a wealth of experience related information we can share with others. So, what better time than now?
Meloxicam is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug of the oxicam class, used to relieve the symptoms of arthritis, primary dysmenorrhea, fever; and as an analgesic, especially where there is an inflammatory component.
Doctor said it's a step below celbrex (sp?).. so trying that because medicaid won't cover celbrex unless we tried this.
