I just wanted to thank everyone who came out and participated in the “Fishing for Independence Open Tournament” for the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. It was a great success with a showing of around100 boats. PIKE could have not done it with out you. We had a lot of limits and big fish. Congratulations to all the fishermen that came in with great stringers.

Thanks a lot mike. It was also great seeing you out there. We all had a great time. Yeah, a lot of people were asking me if we were going to do this again next year. We most definitely plan on doing it again. Actually, we had such a great time, that we might also do another one earlier. So be on the lookout everyone. Thanks again.

Hey Mike, I don’t have him holding up his catch, but I do have him receiving his prize money and also I believe I have a picture of his stringer inside the basket to be weighed in. Here are the pictures.

Re: Great tournament

Thank you so much Carl. This is Pi Kappa Alpha's (aka nickname = PIKE) first tournament and we are planning on having more. We are talking about November and possibly February as well to hold the next ones. The "Fishing for Independence Open Tournament" will also be our annual tournament.

Another thing, I could not have done it without a lot of help from my fraternity brothers as well as my dad and another great friend of mine by the name of Kirk Osborne. It all ran smooth because of these gentlemen. Thanks again guys.

Re: Great tournament

Had a great time. The tournament ran smoothly and I fish all over the Southeast and have fish tournaments twice this size and this was much easier in the morning. My only suggestion is to increase the entry a fee a little and payback more. $200.00 for a Top 6 is not that great, but it was a charity fundraiser understood. Based on the flyer, the payout should have doubled for at least the top ten places cause the flyer was based on 50 boats. Overall, that was my only suggestion and for such a small venue (2 ramps) you did an awesome job!!! I fish team trails that charge $120.00 per team and they have no clue so this was a pleasant surprise you guys are not even a tournament organization. Maybe work on getting some sponsors for next year. I can get Reaction Innovations involved. Overall super job. I'm an Okeechobee guy and this was really fun. See you at the next one Juan & Jake

How’s it going Ranger518. I am glad you had a great time. Opinions are greatly appreciated. If it will make the next tournament better and everyone happy, then changes will be made if needed. Sponsorship wise, I tried really hard to get some, but we got turned down by a lot of people. We would really love to have more sponsors next time. Hopefully we have better luck in the future. Well, I will see you next time out there.

Re: Sponsors

That is great Mike. I will definitely send you my email for more information. This is very kind of you and greatly appreciated just for even trying to help. Let me know when you have your tournaments so that mine won’t interfere.

The way I post pictures on the forum is by codes. What I do is I go to a website called http://imageshack.us/. I first save all the pictures that I need to post into a folder in my computer. After going to the website mentioned before, I then click on the BROWSE button in order to upload the pictures that I need (I believe that you can only do one picture at a time). After clicking on browse, go to that folder that you saved before with the pictures, and click on the picture that you would like to upload and get the code for. Once it has uploaded, then just copy the code (which will not be the actual picture, just a bunch of numbers and letters) and paste it onto your message.

Steps:
1. save pictures onto the computer
2. go to http://imageshack.us/
3. upload pictures by clicking on browse
4. copy and paste the codes onto your message
5. preview the message making sure that the pictures show.
6. you are done

Alex
