Just to let you guys know that Storm boats is still in business over in Ft. Myers. I have heard through the fishing grape vine that they had moved the plant to Georgia, not true. There plant is a brand new building off of exit 131 and 75. They also have a new Storm boat package avalable for $39.900.00. It's the Storm 20'6" SE package. Not all of the bells and whistles that the 22 footer has but a very affordable boat. The new owner ( Brad ) is really dedidcated to keep the Storm reputation going. I'm not there sales man just an Owner, There in the process of building my boat and from what I have seen so far the workmanship is top notch. They also have my old hull and trailer for sale if anyone is interested. WWW.STORMBOATS.COM

What a coincedence... Stopped by a buddies house on the way home last Friday seeing a boat in his drive and checked it out.It was an older Storm started lookin it over to see how it held up. Noticed the plate up front "this boat built especially for --- & ---"... Had fished outa this boat in the early 80's and she still was in great condition. Glad to see they're still going strong....

very wrong info

May 21 2007, 8:57 AM

the only storms with cracks that are not under warranty were built before the new guy bought it, I know the ones that were cracked from Okeechobee one day and know a little bit about the whole story of one of them and the owner of that storm boat understands

I know a guy thats been trying to sell his 06 for quite a while...he cant give it away...cant trade it, etc...
gorgeous boat, but like I said before, unless you know someone that wants a Storm...you will have a very hard time getting any money back from it...all boats lose their value when you leave the lot,,,but your looking at an immediate 60-70% hit right off the bat...

He must not be trying to sell it very hard, because I have not heard of any newer storms for sale, let your friend know if he wants to sell it call Brad at STORM and they will help him sell it, they advertise use STORMS on there website and they seem to be sold everytime.

I Talked to the new owners before I decided to go with them and they had been working with Rick on the last 5-6 boats that he had made. I also have the warranty in writing, so I hope everything works out. Storm has been associated with bass fishing down here since I started fishing in 88. I believe Bert built his first boat in the late 70's or early 80's, I'd hate to see the Storm Boat go extinct. Remember, the Okeechobee Draw series: Storm boats + Gambler baits + fishing ability equals $$$$$

Congratulations ON THE NEW BOAT

May 24 2007, 9:04 AM

Congratulations on the new boat, that new storm is aewsome and Brad is a great guy who believes in the product he is selling and takes alot of pride in his work and it shows, the one he brought to the Gambler Open was unreal looking and was the hottest looking storm ever.
Good luck and I doubt he is going anywhere.(he made another business one of the biggest in that market and it is still strong as ever)
Enjoy you new boat, It's one of the best and don't listen to peoples envy.

Roy

Math Question

May 24 2007, 5:16 PM

Let's do the math NO WARRANTY. 3months, 30 days in a month, 20 working days in a month, 8 hours in a day. Now, a new storm boat cost. $53,000.00 boat, minus $15,000.00 outboard minus $5,500.00 trailer, minus $1,000.00 trolling motor, minus $3,000.00 in electronics and thats being genorous, minus seats, stearing wheel, carpet, fiberglass, gelcoat, batteries, $4,000.00 that leaves $24,000.00 in labor. If it takes 3 months to build a boat you build 4 a year times $24,000.00 = $100,000.00 a year minus all the over head to run a company and your shop guy that going to cost you $35,000.00, Not worth the headaches. I hope Rick built them a little faster than that. Any way you slice it it all depends on the person building the product as to how well it will hold up, and from what I have seen ( I've made 4 trips over to watch the process ) It looks to me like they know what they are doing.

great boat!!!

May 30 2007, 8:56 PM

grew up in s.fla. actually lived just s. of holiday park in holly lakes. was very active in bass tourneys in the glades and on the big "O". if any of you are old enough to remember the old "terry ford" bass tourneys, put on by don brock out of clewiston, 90 of the 115 to 125 boats were storms! (for years!) that's just the way it was... the big "O" was storm city... from the late 70's through the early 90's storm ruled the glades. I on the other hand was a john boater for years and moved to a 150 powered pro craft. moved to georgia in 94 and within 3yrs lost my transom from the ocean type swells on lake lanier. what to do?.... needed a strong fast boat that could take a pounding, ...remembering watching storm boats blow by me with the same power was the final factor.... I was storm bound, in late 2004 with help from my brother we found a cream puff of a storm which I rightly named "SUM-KINA" she is a red & black beauty 90 model powered by 2001 225 pro max merc. that absolutely screams! can turn 6500 rpms. goes 75 mph plus (notice I said plus, I'm a little scared of speed. honestly I am..) you can not believe the crowds of people who come around the boat after putting it on the trailer, to there surprise finding out it's a 1990 hull!!!!... very gratifying & proud to be a storm owner!... biggest comment to date is, looks like a "nascar on water" remember I live in GEORIGA. nascar is king... just ahead of bass fishing & hunting... only one other storm I know of in georgia, my buddy hardhead in buford, ga...... as we speak both boats run hard and holding up nicely on lanier, oconee, sinclair& west point. enjoyed the chat, storm as a company needs to stand behind it's product, it's a legend in s. fla. and legends need to be protected!!!!!!
