This is one of the letters I recieved back from one of the commissioners offices.
Commissioner Jacobs is away from the office, but in the interest of time asked me to respond on her behalf regarding your concerns with potential changes at Everglades Holiday Park.
Broward County owns the land the Park sits on and leases it to the Florida Wildlife Commission, who in turn leases concession opportunities.
The County is hosting workshops in an effort to receive community and user input for the development of a Master Plan. No decisions have been made regarding final use issues. Additionally, although County Parks are traditionally not open 24/7, that does not mean it can not be considered for this facility. Commissioner Jacobs encourages you to continue to participate in the public forums and express your opinions regarding the Park.
Thank you for sharing your concerns. Should you have additional questions, please feel free to email or call this office.

Everyone has a different opinion on what is really going to happen, I believe they will take over the park no matter what, I could be wrong but I don't think the are going to spend money to say ok we don't want it.
So we need to make sure to voice for the things we want such as 24/7 and better parking for the boat trailers and better bathrooms ect.....
Please post your ideas and thoughts in this post so everyone is on the same page and remembers what to fight for.
Congratulations, you guys are doing the right thing. Keep voicing your opinions. We have enouogh time before anything happens to make a difference. I have a meeting with Mr. Bridges and Mr. Bergeron next week to see what we can come up with. The FWC wants to continue their lease with Broward County, and I'm working with them also.
Betweem Everglades National Park, and the Restoration Plan, there is a lot on the table this year. We will keep you posted on our activity. SAFER's website will be kept up to date now that we are running itourselves, so go to www.sfanglers.com for updates. Thanks,Rick Persson
