| I want to thank all of you that went to the COE meeting and spoke up, I hope the next time we have even more people. The next SAFER meeting is on Sept. 18th at 7 PM at Bass Pro Shops in Dania. We're working to get the PDT team leaders for the COE to attend. We would like to get interested parties to attend so we can bring them up to speed on what to say at these public meetings, it's very important to be knowledgeable on the subject. Thanks again, Rick Persson, Vice President, S.A.F.E.R. |

Why when there was a meeting to talk about holiday park and the park hours, there was around 300 people there but to save the everglades in which is the reason we want the hours to stay only 50 or so people showed up to speak, a special thanks to all the people that showed up to the COE meeting, thanks for the support.
For those of you that didn't, I heard the fishing will be better in the Gulf of Mexico when the canals get filled in but it's hell on bassboats!@#$%^&

It is hoped that some of the meetings on the subject be held in Dade County,ie, the new Bass Pro in the future. I went to all the meeting held at FIU a few years ago. Having them in Broward and beyond really hinders some of my club members from attending. It does not help that these are held on weekdays too. |

I realize that it's an inconvience, but the last meeting on Sheridan St. wasn't too far, as most of the guys that fish Holiday Park live in Broward. Of course the Gov. doesn't want to make it too easy. I have heard from the COE that they will attend our meeting on the !8th of Sept, come on and stock up on your fishing supplies and attend the meeting at the same time. |

If enough anglers and outdoorsman express their concerns or possibly come up with diffeferent solutions, they will listen and try to accomadate. It is true that a single person may not make a difference but as a group we can be heard. Don't give up and get everyone involved. |

And lets not forget there will be elections next year..and that is where we can voice our opinions..
We need to form a Anglers and Sportsmans Political Action Committee..collect some money and hire a lobbyist to work the politicans over. |

I"m not too much into all the politics aspect, but what it all comes down to is will there still be a quality fishery in area 3 a?If they knock down the leves to fill the canals and held water in that area would'nt that make it a lake that had a steady sheet flow?

If the levees are removed and the canals filled in, there will be nothing to hold water in that area. First drought that comes along, all the fish will die as the area dries up. I like the idea of a political action anglers group, I wish someone would start it. With the numbers that we hold, we could sway any election. I have approached Chris Horton of BASS with this idea several times. Nationally we could control any election also. This NEEDS to be done, and needs some young minds to start it. I'm too old and have my hands full with the canal issues. Come to the SAFER meeting and let's discuss it... I may have a State Representative at the meeting also, he just hasn't committed as yet, he's got a very busy schedule. |
