What is the history of the fishery at the Holey Lands? I caught a 17.84 lb Snook on an X-Rap on Sunday during my club tournmament. On another occasion, I witnessed another guy catch a Hybrid. The fishfinder is full of activity in some areas. Does any one have a clue?
Nice Snook. I bet you thought you had moby-bass. I have seen a tarpon caught on a SR-5 off the 2nd spillway, when the water is moving the fishing can gets hot at the spillways.
It was originally a rock pit, Griffin Bros. I think and a sod farm, but when the clean water is moving out of the STA...WOW
What was the winning weight if you don't mind. Should of been big. The water has been moving for a few days.
I haven't been out there yet since the ramp was built, can an under powered vehicle manage?

Not what you would think, but everyone was impressed by the ramp and facilities. The FWC was in full force. Partial power-loading was stressed by the officers. Beware, licenses were checked and the weigh-in was observed!
About the fishing: my approach was textbook. Fish the running water against the brisk wind and current. Stopping at the pumps along the way West to East ( the current was going West). The hummingbird indicated water teeming with fish. I rapped around to the canal leading to the old ramp and this was dead. All the guys went West toward Rottenberger and I was the only one fishing East...the theory was textbook. NO WONDER!
yes hard head your right brun that book when the non boater nows the boater who caught a 6.20lbs. the week before and the frist place boater goes the same way there up to something meaning the know how the fish are eating go there i wont lie to you ozman a club member i like to help everyone catch fish may be thats my down fall to help out!!!!!!
