OFFICIAL RESULTS SITE FOR -S.A.F.E.R. - SPRING FLING -GAMBLER-KING OF THE GLADES-EVERGLADES BASSMASTERS-NIGHT OWLS-RENEGADES AND ALL OTHER LOCAL OPEN TOURNAMENTS
Took the wife out for a few hours Sunday morning. Spent the morning in the "pond", the area between the canal and the hunting trails. Water is perfect, between 1-1/2' and 3-1/2', clear, with peppergrass, eelgrass, and hydrilla. I got two small keepers, one short fish, and a kamikaze bream. We had several more bites, but the action was very slow.
Hey Bassin - long time no see. I hope you're doing well.
I'll probably fish the club tourney. It will be my first visit to the Lake since the Ghosts in November '06.
I don't think I'll be competitive enough for BB. Especially the way Bigg has been pulling up hogs.
I'm staying with you guys so I'll see you on that Saturday.
I will be down visiting my fiancee this weekend and would like to fish Lox. I have never been there before. Does anyone have any pointers for me? Are flukes the go to bait here like at Holiday Park? Do rattle traps work here? Or is it allot of flipping?
Lox can be as varied as you want it to be. The canals can hold fish, as can the intermediate area and the flats.
There's plenty of flipping cover and lots of submerged/matted grass beds in 2' - 4' of water.
You can pretty much fish any way you like and still catch.
Just be aware that the law visits there regularly, and they check boats quite often. Make sure you have the appropraite safety gear and your license is current.
It's $5 to park, on the honor system.
