Was thinking about heading to Lake Istokpoga this weekend, was wondering if anyone has info on the fishing and conditions of the lake. Thanks in advance...

The reports i've been getting here at Bass Pro is that the lake is in good shape, but the fishing has been off for the last few weeks. there was a small tour. for two days w/ some pretty good fishermen last week-end, and if i remember right the winning weight was around 10 to 13 lbs. for the 2 days. some of them even went home early on sunday!
good luck if you go, fish around bumble bee island, or the pads just south of Hendersons.

Was there for the weekend a few weeks ago, first time in about 6 months. Most of the water in the southern half of the lake I saw looked pretty good, except for the SE corner near the Cypress trees. Levels are up over 38ft right now but you still can't get inside the islands very far. I didn't flip much so I can't tell you how that good bite is right now and I didn't have much action on topwater either, neither did my buddy fising in a separate boat.

I had about 15-16lbs fishing from around 11-3pm Saturday including the brute below, got chased off the lake from wind though. Also lost a 4-5lber on the first cast of the day while messing with the troll after making the cast and never got a hook in her.
Sunday I caught 10lbs anchored by a 5lber. Tougher conditions with no wind, high skies and tons of traffic.
