Spent several hours this morning exploring the south end of the lake. We visited Bay Bottom, Buzzard's, Long Point, and Pelican.
Saw some very, very dirty water, and also found some very, very clean water.
Gar were everyewhere, and the entire south end of the lake smells like a cross between swamp gas and rotting vegetation - nasty.

Caught a few bass, biggest in the boat was just under four pounds, I had one just under three.

I'm headed back on Friday, and will post another report for the weekend warriors.

I'm very encouraged by what I saw today.

About the same on the north end. There are some fish kills in Buckhead and Eagle Bay. The smell is about the same and the misquitos can stand flat footed and hump turkey's. Clean water inside the pass , Kings Bar , Codys and Grassy. Almost as many gar as misquitos.We will have to get the air boaters and duck hunters to start trails for us but there is plenty of water inside the grass lines to move around. Lakes at 13.63 today.

Whats going on havent seen you in a while.NIce to see the Lake coming back up.Has to be a beautiful sight to run the lake and not worry about losing your lower unit.Cant wait to get up there going out of town opening weekend for hunting.THe wife and I are leaving Friday.Good luck tmmorrow let me know what you did.Is Biggflipperman going up there?
