We have a local club tournament out of the public ramp across from J&S, I intend to go out on Sat, this weekend and prefish, posibly eliminating some water. Has anyone fished the area recently, with all the water being pumped out and still coming in? This is the first time I have been there in 4 years. Any help would be appreciated.

Heard Taylor Creeks locks where open this past weekend. Maybe J&S opened to. Was going to head down Sunday but hit the Phins instead. Haven't been in a few weeks but there are fish on the rocks towards Henry Creek with Giggy heads.

J and S

September 12 2008, 10:45 PM

Fished there 2 weeks ago, stayed inside, the water was still low. caught 3 nice fish with spooks along the dike side, just south of the ramp, there are a few canals south about a mile on the road side, the little canal going into j&s where the bar is, some times holds some nice fish, casting distance north of the bridge by the ramp is a good dropoff to fish crankbaits, shakeyheads, and c-rigs. I never start the engin when i fish there. also the locks are good spots.
Hope this helps.

JIMMY

J & S fishing

I want to thank you all for the information provided on the lake. My buddy and I had a chance to prefish and we locked though, and went over to kings bar area. Found some clean water and only had one bite (about 2.5 - 3 pounder). We decided to go back to the rim ditch were the water was just as clean (caught a few on Gambler aces, trick worms and flukes) no size however. Wind was a little up and out of the east. Tournament day decided to go and fish the ditch again and caught a nice bag of 5 fish for a weight of 13.45 (4.20lbs biggest). 2nd place was 5.5lbs and 3rd was 3lbs and change. The wind was coming out of the south and a lighter breeze then the day before. I was using the same technique as I fished on Sat. I usually do better when the wind is light because of the soft plastics I throw. Once again thank you all for your input.....next tournament is in June in Winter.....hope to get some feedback from you guys (I struggled there last year).
