Has anyone been to Lox lately? I was thinking of going tomorrow. I haven't fished for weeks and I better go out before I forget which end of the rod to hold!
Thanks,

Al O

Fished Lox today.from 7:30 till Noon30..

Fished the north side of the flats..lot of clean water and the water is still over the top of the pepper grass.

Using flukes and senko//wacky rigged we caught 6 and lost a few..nothing spectacular ..the action was not hot and heavy.
Then we moved into the east canal..past the tower and caught a couple on Devils horse and a crankbait.
Didnt need the trolling motor most of the time as the wind was out of the East and moving us pretty good.

Fished Sunday the 14th also

September 15 2008, 10:58 AM

Me and the wife went out and fished the north end of the east side and tore them up to about 26 or 27? Kinda lost count actually. We fished from 4:30pm to 8pm I guess.

They were all smaller with the biggest going 2lbs maybe 2.5lbs. But fun none the less. Most were caught on a speedworm and a chug bug.

Went to Lox today

September 15 2008, 4:57 PM

Keith thanks for your report. I saw it also at UB.

Went out to Lox today. Got there a little after 7am and fished through 12:30. Put in at Lox Rd and fished the flats from the tower through the weeds to the first point. Started with a frog but had no takers. Switched to a watermelon seed speed worm with 1/16 oz weight about midway to the point. On the very first cast caught a 3 lb'er. A few casts later caught one just shy of 2 lbs. Lost my worm and being lazy, pick up another rod that had a blue/black generic Senko. Got another 2 lb'er and 2 or 3 smaller ones of 1 lb or less.

Motored to the first spillway (they were letting water out to the airboat side) and caught another 3 lb'er with a black 10 inch senko like worm and one about 1 1/2 lb. Fished the flats across the spillway with no luck.

Around 11am went up to the north canal to around mile marker 8 (the maker is missing, but I have the place in my GPS) and fished my way back. Literally at the base of mile 9 marker, I caught one just shy of 3 lbs and at the bend between mm9 and mm10 two small one on successive casts.

The water was clear specially in the flats but there is a lot of vegetation. Overall a darn good day, nothing huge but a few decent fish.

It had been a while since my last outing and it felt good to be back in the water.

Forgot to mention that my first fish of the day took revenge as he jump just as I was lipping him and my thumb was sliced by the hook. Nothing big, but he got his revenge.
