Fish everywhere, fished the flats for a few hours caught a few small fish biggest went about 2 lbs talked to other guys fishing the flats they said same thing, the canals have plenty of small fish in the miami canal, caught one good one around 4lbs, went
To the L68 had one big blowup on a spook but couldn't get him to eat flipped a few small ones on the on the L67.
The water is down around 2 feet from the look of the water line when you go down the canal, it looks great everywhere
We did see some guy in a black tracker (not a red one) catch one by the first weir by Miami canal that looked like a 7-8lber, couldn't tell what he was throwing though.
Next tournament will be anyone game!

.....and he wont be able to feed his offspring. I was going to go fishing today but I was afraid I might catch some fish and the Mounted Canadians kids would starve so I just stayed home and wrote a bunch of really really really cool and mean stuff on message boards so I feel much better about myself and I told participants how much better I am than they are, instead of going fishing.
Much the same thing for me Roy. Fished a few hours Friday north on the 27 canal. Caught about 40; mostly between 10"-14". A couple maybe went 2 or better. Most of the keeper size fish came from the main canal. Did'nt see any big spawners or cruisers.
Saturday I tried the mm 31 area. Managed a 2.5 and a 3 along with the usual assortment of dinks and p-heads. Saw quite a few 2-3 lbers relating to beds but did'nt really take any shots at them. Nothing seen in the way of big fish but it is heartening to see so many small fish around this early in the season.
Water everywhere is real clean and not much in the way of current. From what I can see it looks like this year coming will be a big improvement over last.
