LAUNCED AT THE MARGATE MARINA AT 7:30 HEAT INDEX WAS ALREADY HIGH..
HEADED NORTH INTO THE FIRST CANAL AND FISHED TO MARGATE BLVD.
THE FISH WERE IN DEEPER WATER ON THE MAIN CANAL,AS THE SIDE CUTS DIDNT PRODUCE AT ALL.
WE QUITE AT 10:30 AFTER BOATING 14 BASS..3 WENT A POUND AND A HALF..THE REST POUND OR LESS.
GREEN SENKOS WACKY RIGGED AND ALSO TEXAS RIGGED DID THE JOB.VERY HOT..COULD BE LIFE THREATENING IF ONE IS NOT CAREFUL.

another report

October 9 2009, 8:03 AM

Pretty good peacock fishing along the alley, nothing big, trolled and cast rapalas and yozuris - caught one 3 1/2 largemouth on rapala - about 20 peacocks to 1 1/2 lbs

last couple of weeks down toward the Tamiami we've managed a few good bass - up to 7lbs on frogs, and worms and a 5 lb peacock on a spook - very slow fishing though, lots and lots of casts between strikes and as Marv says the heat is deadly. Lots of liquids and B vitamins

Re: A FISHING REPORT

Fished Lox today, south end. The bite was slow. Caught 5 fish, the biggest was 5 1/2 lbs. at the second spillway, heading west from the Lox Rd. ramp. Caught fish on Toads and Yum Dingers. There was a breeze today that made the heat bearable. Anybody have information on Lake Osborne or that chain. I could sure use some help as I am fishing a tournament there tomorrow. Any info would sure be appreciated. Haven't been able to find any fish on Osborne lately.

Fishing a small pond

October 11 2009, 12:21 PM

I went Saturday to a pond near hwy 27 that I have been fishing lately. Been catching some decent fish which is why I have been going there. First Bass of the day was 5.5-6lbs? Caught it on a Baby Torpedo in gold color. I also lost another right after that was probably 3-4lbs. Got slow the rest of the day with a small fish here and there. Picked up later in the day and I ended up with 9 bass and about 10 or so big Chichlids (sp?).

This pond has tons of Peacocks in it and I saw allot of baby Peacock schools being guarded by big Peacocks. The big Bass I caught was near such a school. This school must have had several hundred. I first thought it was a Shad ball but they were baby Peacocks. Saw several P's in the 4-5lb range. 2 weeks ago I caught several nice P's this weekend not a bite.
