Went out to fish for a few hours saturday afternoon. Went to the flats, hit #3 and #4, fishing was slow, only managed to catch a few small ones on horny toads. I guess the cold front could have shut them down. The water has been coming down pretty fast so the flats may not be much of a factor this fishing season.
Once the bridge is done on Tamiami trail and all that water is able to flow freely south will there be any flats at all out there? I know for a fact the project is going to happen. What do you think Marv?
I AM NOT FAMILIAR WITH HOLIDAY PARK AS I HAVE ONLY FISHED THERE ONCE.
THEREFORE I CAMNNOT ANSWER YOU ABOUT THE WATER FLOW AND HOW IT WILL AFFECT THE FLATS AT HOLIDAY.
BUT EXPERIENCE TELLS ME THAT IF THE FLATS FALL TOO LOW,THE FISH WILL FIND DEEPER WATER AND SAFE HAVENS IN THE CANALS..WHICH SHOULD MAKE CATCHING EASIER.
With the hot weather. it will take time.
the fish in the back will come in to spon.
when the water cools.
the guys that can get back there.
if they can will kick ass./ pre fishing!!
they all got trackers.and
been there don that.
trust me the kotgs is commin this mounth.
best tournament. in the south.and pay out!!!
there ready to kick ass.
Was out at Holiday yesterday-the water is falling fast. Pretty soon it will only be the Tracker force that can get out in the flats. We targeted the canals and the fish are coming down from the flats. Tried to get some peacocks and got some but I think the cooler water temp put them off a bit
