Re: Would Bruce made it??

to be honest there isnt a comparison as the 2 methods ad completely different, where ufc concentrates on close combat and throws, jkd teaches distant and effective combat, so from that theory alone if they were infact compatable, then lee would win.

bruce lee

i'm 24 mate, unfortunatley i missed the bruce lee days, but i've read book after book and i've learned so much from not just the man himself but from what peolpe have said about him, and i don't think we'll ever be able to appreciate how amazing bruce lee was, his power , his strength, his speed , his flexability, his fitness his determination the list goes on, a lot of people have said that bruce lee was well ahead of his time which answers your question itself, but my thoughts are that if you take bruce in his prime up against any fighter i think he would win hands down.

to challenge bruce lee for what he has done for martial arts today, is to challenge your master the day he or she takes you in to learn. k1 is k1.

Rare Bruce Lee footage at Seni show

by fighters inc-formant (no login)

“Two Kings” Headline Fighting Spirit Film Festival

European Premiere: Bruce Lee and Elvis in EXCLUSIVE screening.

Fighters Inc in association with Action Asia is proud to present the second ‘Fighting Spirit’ Film Festival, the only UK movie showcase dedicated to martial arts cinema. The Film Festival is part of the Seni exhibition, the world largest combat sports show, and entry is free to all those who buy a ticket to the expo. Seni has procured vintage footage of the King of Kung Fu and the King of Rock and Roll. In footage supposedly lost until 2002, you can see Bruce Lee performing an amazing demonstration at the Long Beach Internationals in 1967. In it Bruce Lee performs his famous three inch punch, twelve inch punch, one finger push ups and what is thought to be the only footage ever recorded of Bruce Lee sparring.

Rising Sun Productions has come across this exceptionally rare and mint condition 16 mm colour film of the 1967 competition as well as a 16 mm film of Elvis Presley performing a fabulous demonstration of Kenpo Karate in the early 1970's. The two pieces of footage have been edited together into a short film entitled ‘The Two Kings: The King of Rock and Roll, and The King Of Kung Fu’. Now, 40 Years after its filming, Seni 2007 will be showcasing this footage for fans from Europe to see for the very first time.

As well the short film the festival will include the first public screenings of Donnie Yen’s New Tiger Gate and City of Violence starring Jeong Du-Hong. City of Violence has been compared favourably to Kill Bill with it’s pace and kick ass action as crazy as anything in martial arts movie history. Other rare and re-released films in the schedule include Don ‘The Dragon’ Wilson’s new movie The Last Sentinel, Shanghai Affairs, New Big Boss (Donnie Yen) and New Fist of Fury (Jackie Chan).

The festival is complemented by guest star appearances, Q&A’s and workshops by Hollywood stunt co-ordinator Dave Lea and rising UK stars Silvio Cimac from Dead or Alive and Scott Akdins from Undisputed 2. Don ‘The Dragon’ Wilson will also be making an appearance, to meet fans and talk about his latest release.

Where: ExCeL LONDON, Docklands.
When: 10am – 6pm on 19th & 20th May 2007
Tickets: Adults/Children: Day tickets £8:00/£5:00 Weekend tickets £13:50/ £6:50
Ticket master: 0870 6077 477 www.senishow.com

Hello and Friends,
