"The aim of art is to project an inner vision into the world, to state in aesthetic creation the deepest psychic and personal experiences of a human being. It is to enable those experiences to be intelligible and generally recognized within the total framework of an ideal world."

Hello fellow Bruce Lee fans. I am creating a project on the iconic status of Bruce Lee for my degree and i would like to gain some opinions from his fans. If anyone could answer these questions on the great man i would appreciate it a lot, thanks.
What makes Bruce Lee such an icon to you and why do you think his legend lives on so long after his death?
What does Bruce Lee mean to you as a fan and why is he so important in terms of the martial art film today?
How does the aspect of JDK have an effect on his pesona as a fim star, does it help or hinder the way he is viewed?

What makes Bruce Lee such an icon to you and why do you think his legend lives on so long after his death?
Two things: 1 #: The man had a profound ability to present himself as the highly skilled martial artist he made himself into. It's one thing to have his martial prowess, another to be able to so skillfully display it before others. As a result of this, everyone else has paled in comparison.
# 2: The above has been enough to prompt countless numbers of people wondering who this guy was, into researching him, only to discover the true renaissance man he was. Soemthing again, he alone stood out as.
What does Bruce Lee mean to you as a fan and why is he so important in terms of the martial art film today?
His physical prowess, because it is real, has inspired many to seek that out in themselves. Later in life, that inspiration is ever there, inspiring them to at least admire the best in something, if not pursuing it in themselves.
How does the aspect of JDK have an effect on his pesona as a fim star, does it help or hinder the way he is viewed?
I personally believe it has hindered his persona as a true martial artist, while having helped it as a film star. His JKD skillls enabled him to shine as he has continued to date, like no other. While bringing into to question [to most] just how skilled he really was, simply because the masses believe movies are just movies - camera angles, tricks, etc., not real, thus his skills must not've been real.

In 1967 I took 16mm color footage of Henry Cho’s Tournament in Madison Square Garden, NYC. Bruce Lee was part of several who demonstrated. He did a form (very short and I believe from Wing Chun), one hand pushup, and one inch punch, all of which were capture. It was the event at which he and Chuck Norris, point champion, met. The attached photo, not from the footage, shows some of the sponsors and participants.
This film was “lost” for nearly forty years until I recently rediscovered where I had stored it. I am currently in the process of converting it to DVD, mostly to preserve it and am considering a joint venture in regard to it. I took the film myself at age 22, using a borrowed camera. Attached find photos of the awards (not from the film, which also includes segments from Norris’s final bout with Joe Lewis, Peter Urban, Gogen Yamaguchi, Ed Parker, etc.). I believe the entire film runs about five minutes.
I have a long history in the arts and believe this represents one of two early east coast appearances.
