Reality is incomprehensible to normal human eyes and video-cameras are definitely products that are part of The Illusion - they are made for use in our little prison and may work completely differently when exposed to reality (or not at all).
I think there are definitely some lictors in high positions in companys like Sony and such.
There certainly are some artefact cameras made by enlightened hands though, and these could possibly even record reality within Elysium.
