on the employer. Two weeks paid vacation, plus sick days and a good chunk of holidays is pretty generally normal. In the military, its something like a full month a year (I may be mistaken about that though). Plus, many employers are beginning to accept 'maternity leave,' for both parents now.
In the end though, it all depends on what kind of deal you can cut at your job, and how hard you are willing to work for it.
