A while back there was a thread about
how to get PCs into Metropolis. Well
here's an idea based on a description
in the core rule book 1st ed. US.
Page 208 Description of the Abyss.
"The Abyss is about 30 miles across. The city buildings
continue right up to the very edge of the Abyss and it
sometimes happens that one of the outermost build-
ings falls into it."
Have PCs start off in a normal situation
in their lives... the ground starts shaking
like an earthquake or explosion... when
they run out of the building they are in
Metropolis as the building slides or falls in.
They are on the rim of the Abyss.
Maybe as they stand there at this gaping hole
unsure of what the hell just happened to them
they encounter Erinyae, Azghouls or Crustacz.
If they have been trouble-some to a Lictor
maybe he leaks false info to them to go
to a building at a certain time and this all
happens to be rid of them...
