The PCs are drugged with a powerful narcotic that emulates death by their enemies. They are buried in a Potters Field (free city cemetery) because their possessions have been stolen and no ID found on their bodies.
They "wake up" buried alive. Escaping the grave (barely) they find themselves in Metropolis wanting revenge and their normal lives back.
