I watched a really crappy movie called
Don't Look In The Basement...
Warning Spoilers!!!
There is a small private sanitarium which
is experimenting in a new treatment
technique under a radical Doctors direction
in that the patients are encouraged to
go so far that at a point they will be
forced to draw upon their own strength
and supress there mental illness or be lost.
Ex. Doctor Stephens is working with a
crazed Judge who is an Axe Murderer.
He takes him out and has him chop
logs getting into a frenzy hacking at this
thing... however the Judge uses it on
Doctor Stephens.
Before he died he hired a new nurse
who is enthrawled with this new method
and leaves her job to come to the institute
however she arrives to find the Doctor
has been killed in an accident... the
Sanitarium does not want any attention.
She has paperwork of hire and the new
doctor in charge excepts her eventually.
Part of the treatment plan here is there
are no locks except for the medicine
cabinet. The patients are grouped into a
family like atmosphere to try and recover.
The staff live among the patients and
everyone has their own room and chores.
Doctor Stephens performed a labotomy
on a patient Sam and was disgusted
with the results that left Sam like a
helpless child. So he gave up on traditional
treatments and came up with his new
methods.
There is a Nympho/emotional dependent
woman insanely trying to find love
The Judge who is an axe murderer passing
judgements on others
A woman with a toy doll as a baby...
she is insanely obsessed with it...
An old witchy woman. reciting poems and
giving cryptic warnings, babbles about
little men she is found with her tongue
cut out... after warning the nurse.
The Sarge a real Sargeant who lost his
mind...
There is another guy Danny who is a
trouble maker and possible killer...
sadist?
to name a few... anyhow... eventually
the inmates are getting farther and farther
out of hand... and the nurse is terrified
of them invading her space and so forth...
the new doctor in charge is unsympathetic
and a control freak...
The phone wires are cut and the place is
cut off from cizilization being an hours
drive or more to the nearest town.
A phone man comes and is killed... after
some wires were cut to keep the place
secluded but by whom?
The doctor has everything locked up. The
one patient Sam keeps giving the nurse
belongings and messages from Doctor
Stephens she dismisses... eventually
she finds out his body is in the basement
head half hacked off... and see it. Flipping
out the other inmates tell her the Doctor
in charge is one of them... a patient who
took over and has started killing off anyone
who can blow her cover... she tries at
first to force the nurse into believing
she is a patient I think and plans to
lobotomize her... Sam helps the Nurse
escape remembering what was done to
him... the other inmates turn on the
doctor and slaughter her... Sam puts
an end to it being a huge guy and kills
all the others... breaks down and cries.
The nurse goes off screaming through
the woods at all the death and horror
she has witnessed there...
Some of this can be converted to Kult
I am sure the set up... increase staff to
incorporate the PCs who find out the
inmates are running the Asylum and they
are trapped in there with them... try
to convince them they are patients who
need help... and so forth.... any ideas
are welcome on this topic... I have no
plans to do anything with this...
