Just started planing of this model.
Here is two sources I have:
"Israeli cruel cats" (Puma, Achzarit from The Israeli way)
Military Briefs #2
For the "Israeli cruel cats": Left and right side drawings are..... in different scales.
For the Military Briefs #2:
Scale is not 1/76 as written and scale ruler on the bottom isn't correct.
So, what I did: The only dimension I know for sure is T-55 chassis, which not changed. That's why I've placed both drawings over T-55 drawings and scaled each drawing in a different percentage.... Result is very surprizing for me:
Military Briefs #2 Achzarit Width is 47 mm (1/72)
"Israeli cruel cats" Width is 56 mm (1/72).
I've made some calculations from existing photos and from my calculations this size have to be 51,8 mm (1/72).
Have some questions to these who have more information than I have:
Does anybody know ANY other sources? (mean drawings)
Does anybody have correct physical dimensions for this vehicle?
Thanks for Your help.

Sincerely, Alexey.

Alexey

Have a look at the Sentinal website. John Myszka's book; 'Military Briefs No.2 - Israeli Tank Based Carriers' should be helpful. John also offers 1/35 scale plans of the IDF Achzarit - T54/55 based troop carrier.

The URL is http://www.webone.com.au/~myszka/

Sorry Alexey

I didn't read your post carefully enough. However, the 1/35 scale plans may be useful in providing more accurate 1/72 plans.

Just got drawings from AFW News = the same as in a Military Briefs. Do You know about John's 1/35 drawings? Are these the same as in a Military Briefs?

Here is another good reference site for You and others:

Thanks for help to all.

Alexey

I'm not sure about the 1/35 plans.

I have John's 'Israeli Military Vehicles' book and it uses plans drawn by George Bradford, Geoff Lacey, Hubert Cance, Ludovic Bertrand and John. Apologies to anyone I missed.

By the way, the Achzarit plans in this book are reproduced at a much larger scale than the stated 1/76. I was always taught that including a linear scale was a basic principle of draughting.
