How about giving the consumer the option?

I’ve built a few of your older models and had to purchase two of the exact kit to allow hatches to be open. This of course took some Drilling, sanding and cutting of both kits to piece them together. Although I like the kits allot, purchasing two kits just to give myself the option deterred me from purchasing other ACE kits.

I’m glad to see the Commander, Gunner, Driver hatches now have the option to close or leave open on most of your newer Tank/APC kits. Why can’t Model Manufactures give the consumer the option to make all hatches open/closed on vehicles such as Tank/APC's? How come you guys don't include Commander, Gunner, and Driver in your Tank/APC kits?

Surly making these enhancements to your kits will improve sales and the end result will be a happier consumer who’s willing to purchasing more.

Figures

Well, I understood your idea, but ....

Here is a question to You: WHY some companies produce great figures in plastic (say, Preiser), some have good ones in a soft plastic (ESCI, Zvezda) and the rest rest eigther don't produce (mean the ones to be included into kits) figures or produce poor quality ones?

Answer is that these production lines are very different and need different instruments and skills.

Instead of including a poor quality figure I would recommend to purchase interesting and quality figures from Preiser. BTW they have even more figures for this year in their plans.

ACE + Preiser

Alexey, here's an idea:

Why don't you contact Preiser and offer combination kits on the market with ACE kits including Preiser crews? I'm sure it won't hurt either of your wonderful companies.

And since I'm talking combination kits, how about contacting specialist companies to produce your tracks out-house. The tracks issue is ACE's biggest problem as far as I'm concerned (mostly the thickness) and you can have the extra tracks as an option for those modellers willing to pay extra.

Alexey, the market is not growing as it did in the seventies, (although thanks to you guys us, older modellers, have gone back to the shops...) and ideas like these may provide you with extra revenue to boost your company.

Thanks

How about making kits with hatches as separate pieces

Thanks for your reply.

You did address the why companies don't include Commander/Gunner/Driver figures. You didn't reply to the comments about having options with the hatch covers on Tanks/APC's.

Any comments on that part of my message?

about having options with the hatch covers on Tanks/APC's:

Well, we thought about this, but sometimes problem is a much wider than separate parts.... As soon as large doors made open then most of the interior have to be done as well .... Problem is here! Not much people (especially wargamers) want to pay for extra sprue with interior parts (not usefull with that group and some other categories of modelers).

Another part of an answer is that often we don't have enough good info about interiors......

But anyway thanks for a question - will try to keep this in memory.

Sincerely Alexey.
