Help - Chevy '99 Tahoe is dumping fuel...

I have a 1999 Chevy Tahoe (police package),
350, 165,000 miles. It wouldn't start the other day
so I (I know I shouldn't have) sprayed starting
fluid and since then I can now smell gas out of the
tail pipe & shes using twice the gas she use to.

Anybody want to guess what may have happened?
And what should I try to repair the problem?

Thanks guys for your help.

Might have wasted an O2 sensor. Fuel calibration sounds like it is back-up. Use a scanner to make sure the O2 outputs are "toggling" . Good Luck

Take the plugs out and make sure they are not 10 years old, fouled out and wet. It will not start or will run bad and waste gas with black plugs. you smell gas because every time you turn the key with out starting you injected more gas which ends up in the engine and exhaust system. After it starts make sure you have a good battery and alt is charging. check if you have a strong spark and then check out the fuel system if needed. also run codes, check tps, map, mass airflow sensor, ect.
Good luck
