Milan Dragway - June 6th Aeroquip Heads Up Race
Aeroquip Friday Night Heads Up Series presented by Golf Carts Plus, Discount Tire and US27 Motorsports & Trailers Race #2 ended early thanks to severe weather in the area. The strong winds brought in heavy rain and tons of lightning. The race was stopped prior to the rain when VP Racing Drag Radial racers Dave Henninger and Jay Trisel both crashed in the shut down area. They were the second to last pair in the class. Neither driver was seriously injured, Jay was sent to the local hospital.
The purse was split-up in all of the classes amongst the drivers that had not been eliminated. Qualifying points will be awarded to all drivers in all classes. For the classes that completed 1st round they will also get win points. RWYB, Outlaw 10.5, X-Treme Street Bike were the only ones that completed the round. Since Drag Radial was not finished they will only get the qualifying points.
RWYB - 4 racers each getting $750 Outlaw 10.5 - 8 racers each getting $300 X-Treme Street Bike - 3 riders each getting $530 Drag Radial - 9 racers each getting $250 All Motor - 14 racers each getting $150 Open Comp - 24 racers each getting $70
Thanks to ALL of the great race cars and racers that come out and entertain our fans. Even with the extreme heat, most drivers were able to make some great passes. We will be posting the qualifying sheets, points and Holbrook Tuning Challenge later today.
