The NEW Quick Series
We recently announced that we had cancelled the Quick 16 Series. With low car count and lack of sponsorship we had to make a change. We have re-grouped and come up with a new program. The NEW Quick Series will be a “Run What Ya Brung” style event. The class is open to Top Dragsters, Top Sportsman, Pro Mod, Outlaw 10.5, Roadsters, Altereds, Funny Cars… The 24 quickest cars will bracket race on a pro ladder. Non qualifiers will be able to get into Top ET or Mod ET. The class will be run on Sunday’s, the same weekends as the original Quick 16 schedule. Cars must be dialed within .10 of the bump spot. All entries must have an engine retention device. Crosstalk will be used in eliminations. The race will be ¼ mile, two rounds of qualifying and FAST!
$1,200 Winner
$400 Runner Up
$200 Semis
$100 Quarters
Entry fee will be $80
The 2008 dates are as follows: Sunday July 6, Sunday August 17, Sunday September 7 and Sunday October 5.

This is a fantastic idea. Glad to see something like this given a chance. A real live "RUN WHAT YA BRUNG" class. I hope it works and works very well ! Now let's (EVERYONE) get out there and help promote this and try to fill the stands with paying customers.
Hello Chris! Noticed your announcement of the "Run What Ya Brung" style event. Pro tree. Open to Top Dragsters, Top Sportsman, Promod, 10.5, Roadsters, Altereds, Funny Cars...I have to admit, I got pretty excited until I realized that it consisted of Bracket Racing.I knew that I could get some Top Alcohol Dragsters and Funny cars to participate, who in turn would put on one Heck Of A Show, had it been Heads Up. But because our Engine Combinations are built and set up for Heads Up Racing and not Bracket Racing, we would be unable to adequately perform, not only for ourselves, but also for the Fans and Spectators. Although we do have Bookings for Exhibition and Match Races this year, it sure is always gratifying to be able to run your Home Track in an Event. It enables us to allow our Family and Friends to have an opportunity, those who normally could not, share our Racing Experience with us. If anything does develop, consisting of TAD, Funny, ProMod, We Will Be There!. My Best Wishes for a Safe and Prosperous Outcome for your New Series. Debbie Madej PMSXPRESS
No offense Kevin but if the door cars would have supported this race like the dragsters we would not have this problem. The dragster field was always full. I cant say the same for the door car side. Chris had to make changes to keep the race alive and I think he made the right choice.
First, Thanks Chris for coming up with an alternative quick program. Hope to be there on Sunday.
Just curiuous as to 24 vs. 32 car program. Payout could stay the same....same number of rounds....only difference is the bye in the semifinal....plus, hopefully 8 more happy racers qualify. And I guess one more semi finalist gets paid.....
As to the comments relative to the low car counts, There were times over the past two years when BOTH the door car and open car fields were short. There are multiple reasons for the low counts.....folks competing in IHRA/NHRA divisionals, Nationals on same weekends...fuel costs ....weather etc. But, as it stands , we now have another chance to play with our fast cars without subjecting ourselves to a 7 or 8 round regular bracket race. If I have to endure a few rounds against the dragsters, so be it (Just kidding Bob).
Hope to see you all Sunday.

I think John brings up a very good point about 8 more paying customers coming in and not having a bye run in the semi's. Please change it to a 32 car field. I usually go to Grand Bend because I enjoy running their Top Dragster/Sportsman series but never went to Milan for theirs because I thought I couldn't get in with a 7.6-7.7 but would love to be able to run something closer to home.
