push rod length

i was hoping someone could tell me the how to check push rod length for a 302 with a x-cam and trick flow heads??or if you already know what length i should use. thank you gary

Ideally, the best pushrod length is one that places a theoretical line drawn through the axis of the rocker arm pivot point and the valve tip at a RIGHT ANGLE to the valve stem when the valve is at the mid-point of its lift curve for the camshaft being used. This is best determined with a dial indicator and a valve checking spring and an adjustable pushrod.
