Every body hates to see a oil gauge drop,I had ran My car late last year, and finally had the money and the time to run it again. When I fired it up,it had 60 lbs.pressure.Ok fine,I made some adj.tonight, and checked the gauge, and suprise,I only had 40 lbs....I had not changed the oil since last year, but only had about 5 runs on the oil.
Has the oil broke down from, condensation, fuel(it does kind'a smell of gas)or do I need to go further.I drained it to find absolutley no problem, other than it seemed thin when drained....
Can I do something in the future to prevent the oil from breaking down>??i am using Valvoline 20w50 VR.....Thank's for the help!!!!!

Oil does not "break down" that quickly. It may be diluted with fuel or you may have a broken / cracked pickup tube.
If it does not show metallic particles or a lot of moisture from sitting all winter you probably did no damage.
Pull the pan - inspect the pickup - add new oil and give it a go. You could even check a couple rod bearings while your pan is off, but I'll bet the bearings are good.
