Fort William / Sault Ste. Marie game

by McCanner (Login mccanner2k3)

I know the fans of North Bay have often been accused of sitting on their hands during games but I believe a new low was reached on Thursday afternoon during the Fort William/Sault Ste. Marie game. Some Fort William fans, who travelled a long way to be here, were using air horns during the game when their team scored. Shortly after there was an announcement on the PA stating that anyone using an air horn would be asked to leave the arena. I realize they are a little loud but are you kidding me? Get a life. I was actually sitting near the Fort William fans and when they'd blast the horn you should have seen the dirty looks from the fans nearby. It's a hockey game for christ sakes. If you don't like the noise then go catch a matinee show at The Capitol Centre. Rediculous. There is supposed to be "atmosphere" at a hockey game.

..the lack of a AAA system has already shown up with the results of the Athletics and Trappers. How many have made OHL lately..and the list for Jr. A is not too long..North Bay hockey is at the very low part of a cycle..

by Chris North (Login nosl)

The North Bay Skyhawks & Sudbury Northern Wolves were at each other's neck throughout the entire game at Countryside Arena in Sudbury. North Bay and Sudbury kept taking turns at the lead in the second period. With 8.2 seconds left in the 1st overtime period, Nathan Daly scored the winner against Sudbury to win the game 7-6. The Skyhawks have a 3-1 series lead over the N. Wolves and are going for the series clincher Thursday Night at the Gardens.

Federal Hockey League Latest

by Chris North (Login nosl)

According to an FHL press release, the FHL is supposed to have a short season in the spring of this year with a 20 game schedule and 6 teams (North Bay being one of them). The team would now be known as the Express. Scott Wray & Sean Degagne (both former Centennials) have apparently signed with the North Bay Express. Also, Former European Player & National Coach Jiri Kazda confirmed that he would manage and coach the Express.

I have two questions, when will John Larsen visit North Bay and since when is Europe a country?

$$$$

by rollo tape (Login rollotayp)

The swat team probably saw the Belleville asking price of 3.5 mill...unless there is a stunning economics rebound in north bay the chances of this level of hockey returning are slim to none..enjoy Pembroke, Nepean etc...no $$$ in this town and an out of town owner would want a new state of the art 5,000 seat arena..

re $$$$

by sleddog (Login 1sleddog)

The new economics are evident, but my question was that with a 30 day mandate the results of their task force should have been officially released by now.I also realize that it was basically a political exercise to show that the new mayor is proactive.

I like this trade. Ole' Jacques pretty well gave up on Brad in Minnesota. Now he will have a chance to get regular ice in Buffalo. Buffalo is still looking at trading Zitnik and others.
