The climbers trail can be a little tricky to follow, as it's not a real trail, but just keep heading up. Doing it as a day hike would be mo problem at all. Closer to the lake it steepens and you'll travel sand covered granite. It's a beautiful lake, but don't dismiss Sawtooth lake too quickly. It's also spectacular.
