| I love this area because it is pretty removed from the hoards. The fishing in some of these lakes can also be outstanding if you hit it right. Crimson is a pretty long hike up the West Fork of Yankee Fork or a shorter but exhausting bushwhack from the Red Mountain Road. Both ways make it tough for a day trip, which we have done with horses. Even then it was a very, very long day.
As for Cabin Creek Peak, I can't belive that more folks tackle this peak due to its prominence. It sticks out like a sore thumb in this part of the country. Is this peak a pretty tough climb? Sorry, but I don't own your book so I can't look it up. I know that from some discussion in here that you are one of the few that has actually done it. I remember the west side looking pretty rough, but I had fishing on the brain, not scouting a route to the top. |
