Jason, Cabin Creek Peak by my route is one or two pitches of 5.4 climbing depending on the length of your rope. Its on the east side. I have not been to the base of the west side since the late 70s and cannot offer much on possible lines. All potential routes would be technical climbs.
I have hike in by both of the routes you mentioned. The west fork was a shorter hike years ago before the road was closed. Still, as you know, Crimson Lake is worth the hike.
