I come from a family with a great history of flyfishing, hunting, camping, anything outdoors.
In the fall of 2006, I remember hearing someone mention having climbed Mt Borah. I had recently, graduated from dental school in the spring (I was in the flatlands of Omaha, NE for school). Believe me, I was STAGNATE, OUT OF SHAPE, ETc......all those things while I was in school.
Anyhow, having heard this person's experience, I googled Mt. Borah, stumbled upon idahosummits.com and devoured the webpage like madman. I loved all of Dan's pictures, especially of the 12ers.
I planned that fall to climb Borah the following summer. This was really my first attempt to purposefully climb to the top of a mountain. 1/3 of the way up COR, I was pooped!! Nutrition, hydration, exercising to get ready......whats all that stuff anyways???
Well, in rolls 2010, I have lost 30 lbs since dental school and I got the FEVER!! and the only prescription is more mountain.
