I'd like to get in a July day, but not sure if it will be over the holiday weekend.
Question for those who've gone up Rock Creek (the one starting on the west side of the range, near the earthquake site). What would it be like hiking up there with skis on a pack? In other words, are there tightly grown trees or lots of deadfall?
Other option to get to the base of the north side of Borah with easy hiking is through Mahogany, but that looks to be longer farther. I'll have to measure distances on a map.
I wouldn't be skiing on the north face of Borah, but rather the nice-looking slopes at the base of the north face. I think it would be some good skiing in a dramatic setting.
