That Cirque is a special place! The bivy site alone is worth the hike, waterfalls, big rock faces and perfect alpine solitude are a few more reasons. The skiing not so much if thats all youre there for, Thats a big complex face, full of rocky hazards that force one to repeatedly traverse skiers left. The lower part of the face is much more wide-open and less steep but thats a long way to hike when there are so many other great shots in the area. I saw your Mahogany trip report and it looked like you got the goods.
The corn hasnt really developed here, It only got warm enough out here in the LRR to form an ugly crust on the south and west facing stuff. We dont have powder or corn! Waaah.
Here's a more likely spot.
Im planning a return trip in June to finish off Donaldson and maybe make another run down Church. Hope you can find the time to roll!
