May corn

Last weekend's powder in the northern Sawtooths was quickly transformed into "California Corn". A few good friends joined me for the harvest.

Friday's tour started on the east side of Alpine Peak:


Great views from the summit:


Fantastic steep skiing:



Then we headed south for more views and scenic skiing:





And came back north to ski the wind drift on the NE side of Regan:




Then up the west side of Alpine Peak and found the best snow of the tour:




A quick skate brought us across Sawtooth Lake:


And then back to the trailhead to complete the circuit:


Today's tour was around McGown:


Souths were great for hiking:


And turning:



Then off for more exploring of interesting terrain:






Hard to beat these conditions for ski mountaineering.
