Located in the interior of the northern end of the Lemhi range lies Mogg Mountain 10573'. Sharing the space as neighbors are Mill Mountain and Buffalo Skull Peak.
The approach was a long 5.6 mile ascent up the north ridge.
Upon reaching the summit, the thunderstorm clouds parted and a beautiful 25 minutes of sun and calm wind was a great reward. This close up of Mogg's nearest neighbor, Buffalo Skull Peak, showed itself.
The Mogg benchmark and a scramblers best friends. Could there be an endorsement deal pending? Phil Knight - call me.
Buffalo Skull Peak seen on the hike out.
Notes:
Access was via Hayden Creek Road. You can drive 11.5 miles to Tobias Creek where the road is gated. Head up the ridge starting at Cooper Creek.
The Bear Valley Creek Road is closed through August 9 while culvert work is being done on Ford and Kadletz creeks.
