      Some encouragement.
1934 1st solo attempt on Everest by M. Watson. Died of exhaustion in his tent under the North Col.
1947 2nd solo attempt on Everest by Canadian E. Denman however happily turned back after climbing to the North Col.
1953 FIRST Ascent! It was Tenzing Norgay's 7th expedition onto Everest and E.P. Hillary's 4th. Lesson learned; success follows the prepared.
1978 First Ascent without Oxygen. R. Messner and P. Habler were told that it is physically impossible to do what they did. Lesson learned; Don't let others determine your destiny.
1980 First successful Solo Ascent. R. Messner with his girlfriend watching from basecamp. Again was told it wasn't possible. Lesson learned; Confidence is key.

Good mountaineers die at home, in their beds.
Don't be afraid to fail. Failure precedes learning.

I'd recomend sleeping high. Overnight lows in the valley last December were -10 degrees, up on the ridge were +15 degrees. (Cold air sinks)

      Sounds like your a reader?
The Crystal Horizon by Reinhold Messner. First Solo of Everest.
