Time up: 4 hours
Time down: 3 hours. the cross over took 20 nimutes.
We drove up Friday night and met up at the famous pizza joint outside MacKay and met a crew of 4 from idaho Falls, they had just done Leatherman.
After final finding the Breit... trailhead in the dark, setting up camp, we got to bed at 11 and up at 4, started the trek accross to Lost River, alot closer than it looks, or maybe it was just dark. We hit the base at sunrise. We climbed to 11k until the sun hit us.
At 10,500' we dropped our extra load, water, etc. and proceded through the Super Gully, not real bad if you stayed left, as soon as we got out of the gully we shot left and to the ridge. At the ridge we followed the obvious trail to the summit. Cool temps made climbing nice.
We came back down to 10,500 and followed the base of the ridge over to Breit... valley. It was really easy. At that point you could side hill up to a higher elevation and procede up Breit... or drop down and procede out to the trailhead. It makes a nice loop considering and having some variety.
We did not have a summit #2 for the day. But found out it could be done.
After getting down to the trailhead, Blake headed back to Pocy and I proceeded to find my trail head for day 2 climb Black Dome. I got to the trail head at 4:30 pm, looked up and said, "Go for it." I summited it after 2 hours and came down in 1 hour, not a technical climb, but a real nice one.
Headed home to Boise after accomplishing my goals for the weedend.

Thanks to the administrator of this website, I have found some nice climbing partners to hook up with. I hope to get many more climbs this Fall including double days. i am preparing for a Rim to-Rim-to-Rim assault of the Grand Canyon Oct. 13th. and 14th.
