Didn't check the board until Friday night and missed Mark's message, sorry man. Can't check this site at work and I'm spending most of my waking hours there, click on my username and send me an email to get ahold of me.
Skiied Cramer this time, pretty stellar. I would highly endorse either more snow, less snow, or using a snowmachine however, as it's a good ways in and the first couple miles have lots of annoying dirt and rocks exposed.
This is Cramer. From here getting to the peak was pretty, uh, character building. I think being familiar with the Summer route or coming when there's more snow would make routefinding a little easier
This was the character building section, ended up traversing pretty much from the center left of the photo to the bottom right over and around many of the ribs and drainages visible. Reminded me of some parts of Southern Utah with fin after fin to climb over and around.
Everything above 8000 was so good once it softened up.

Awesome trip and great report, Zman!
I've had my eye on Cramer for some time. Glad to see someone go get it!
I'm a little surprised to hear you saw so much open ground. We skied in to Decker on April 26 a few years back and other than under a tree or two, I don't recall any bare dirt.
PS- Back in the day, when we hiked in to the Finger a lot, we refered to it as the "Hell Boring" trail.

Great mountain photos on your last two trips but the shots that caught my eye were of that blue bag laying in the snow. It just looks like a body bag to me.those shots make me want to crawl into my tent and start sucking my thumb. Nice work!

Don't think I've ever seen a blue one, plus I keep mine open to avoid confusion. There's still enough snow above 8000 right now you could make one of these if you were motivated,
Your best bet for comfort on cold snowy outings though is an old fire lookout like this,
Are there any of these open to the public around here?
