Response to Did nyone have a TEE echo?
I have had several of these periodically throughout my Disease. Basically this test is similar to what your 'Gastroenterologist' would do when performing an (Upper Endoscopy).
It enables your Cardiologist to extend a small tube down your throat with a tiny camera attached to the end, where he is then capable of observing your heart/valves/atrium/and over-all functions.
Using either a Dual Doppler/or enhanced colour Doppler to clearly define all areas. This assists in determining any abnormalities/causes for anyone with Atrial Fibrillation, etc.
Although one tends to consider it to be (Intrusive), it is basically considered a routine procedure. You will be asked to Gargle with Lidicane/Numbing agent before performing the test.
So if it is any comfort to know, I would not be very anxious in regards to having it done. As a matter of fact, it shows that your Heart Specialist has (your) 'Best Interests' at heart, if you will...;)
You can (Google) it to learn more about it from the (Cleveland Clinic).Wishing you all the very Best....
