I have a thought or two...
First off, it's completely retarded to blame libertarians when we have no real power. The U.S. is run by socialists (Republicrats) and has been for some time now. To claim that libertarians managed to grab enough power to fuck the economy is just plain dumb.
Secondly, libertarianism doesn't work piecemeal. You are either free or you aren't. We can't give some economic freedoms, while denying others, and then complain when the system collapses. Unless we are willing to try a complete laissez faire system, we can't blame libertarianism. I think that the real failure was not allowing the market to be free enough.
