I thought any Christmas cards that have nothing inside were atheist Christmas cards.

Those are great. btw...I'm a graphic artist. Everyone, give me some other atheist card ideas and I'll post them. Also, I think we're playing into the hands of the establishment with the phrase "Atheist Christmas cards." Why not just pick some random day and make it an atheist holiday. Well damn. Holiday. That's not right either.

HA! Very cool.

Speaking of atheist Christmas, my sister is making embroidered "samplers" this year with atheist quotes on them (as gifts), all surrounded by little old-timey embroidered houses and trees and fruits and stuff. This is basically the coolest idea ever. I wish I'd had it first, and I hope I get one.

We usually make our own holiday cards. Oh, the joys of Photoshop and Illustrator.

The cards often have a rather unpleasant theme to them:

A festive plate of sliced meat with Rudolph's head in the center

A fake newspaper page featuring scandals from the North Pole. Last year Santa died in a freak accident while trying to extort cookies and milk from an elf. No charges were filed because it was "elf-defense."

A family of dust mites dining on skin flakes for their holiday feast with the youngest dust mite complaining "Awww. Skin flakes again?!" and the mother dust mite saying, "Shut up and eat!"...

It's getting to be a pain (especially the cards that involve cutting and gluing), but our friends look forward to them.

What about a recreation of the Godfather scene with Santa waking in bed to Rudolph's severed head?

I like it! Now we just need some deer hunter to provide a fresh head, wire up the nose with a red light bulb, and we can make a video card! (All we have are skulls, skulls, skulls...)

The case could be made that evangelicals have hijacked the season, and that we need to reclaim solstice celebrations.
